The two design teams then combine resources to assess the prototype coils:

• Manufacturing multiple prototype coils

• Testing and revising electronic specications

• Mechanical testing, including:

- Temperature stability cycle testing

- Cable stretching and bend testing

- Rubbing, vibration and impact testing

- Accelerated aging and salt spray testing

• Field testing second prototypes using internal and external eld testers from around the world

• Finalizing specications and drawings

That is not the end of the process! Minelab’s

manufacturing team then get involved with

building prototypes using nal o tool parts and

then ALL of the engineering tests are repeated to

conrm the design.
